Food Innovation will provide you with sound training in the science of food, while giving you the advantage of strong business skills needed by the industry today.
 
It involves real problem-solving projects and research, and has strong practical links with the industry.
 
Because of these emphases, Food Innovation provides a good grounding in the creative and practical aspects of food product development, gained through project work and relevant industry training.
 
This major is available for the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAppSc).

Career opportunities

The aim is to prepare our students for creative, challenging, diverse and rewarding careers in the food industry and to produce the next generation of critical thinkers, industry leaders and food science researchers.
 
Graduates will use their skills to develop new, improved products or devise more economical production processes. While studying they'll learn the science of developing new food products along with business, innovation and marketing skills to step into key technical, management and research roles in the food industry.
