Exercise & Sport Science takes a biological/physical approach to the study of human movement. Subject areas include: Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology and Motor Learning & Control.
 
Physical Education is a broad academic discipline that encompasses study of the biological, professional and social aspects of physical activity.
 
This major is available for the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPhEd).

The School of Physical Education was founded in 1948, making it NZ's oldest academic institution in the area of Physical Education.
 
Now, more than 50 years on, we offer a range of leading-edge degree programmes which incorporate sport, leisure, education and exercise sciences studies.

Career opportunities

Graduates work in the sport, fitness, recreation and leisure industries as advisers, consultants or marketers.
