Computational Modelling

Computational Modelling

Computational Modelling is all about formulating and modelling real-world problems, then developing solution methods to analyse these problems on a computer.

Powerful, cutting-edge software packages and programming languages are used to solve problems in a huge range of fields, including engineering, biological and bio-technical systems, and finance.

This major is available for the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAppSc).

Did you know?

From computational modelling you can leap to work at the frontier in many areas.

Computational Modelling links applied science and technology with business skills, introducing students to advanced knowledge in their chosen major, combined with several business papers that allow graduates to engage successfully in science and technology enterprises.

Career opportunities

If you can do mathematics and know how to use it to make computer models of real-world problems then there are exciting jobs waiting for you.

Leap to the forefront of medical research, making models of the human body (kidneys, heart, ...) for the cures of the future. Be part of the new wave of biologists using mathematical models of animal movement. Lead the market with the latest financial analysis using the new mathematical techniques that are reshaping finance. Etc.

From computational modelling you can leap to work at the frontier in many areas.
